A concealed hinge for heavy duty applications.
It is consistent to continue where everything began. In 2001, Basys – Bartels Systembeschlaege, Kalletal, was the first German manufacturer to present a concealed and three-dimensionally adjustable hinge at the BAU trade fair. In 2017, the company again presented its creative know-how in this field. One focal point at Stand 430 in Hall B4 was the “Pivota DX” product family – now a complete range of concealed, three-dimensionally adjustable hinges for flush doors, which covers the entire range of doors with load capacities from 40 to 350 kilograms per pair.
A new member of the “Pivota DX” product family celebrated its premiere at BAU 2017. The “Pivota DXS 180 3-D Steel” hinge developed for heavy-duty applications consists of solid steel components as well as stainless steel joints and carries a standard load of 300 kilograms. Its special kinematics enable claddings up to 8 mm thickness.
The new model has the same milling dimensions as the “Pivota DX 120” (150 kg load capacity) and “Pivota DX 180” (200 kg load capacity) models, which facilitates door replacement. The manufacturer achieves milling compatibility within the model groups through hybrid technology: the material composition alone determines the load-bearing capacity – the milling dimensions remain unchanged.
The heart of the “Pivota DX” hinge series is the design principle developed and patented by Basys, which reliably accommodates leaf weights and provides doors with a permanently maintenance-free and smooth-running mechanism even under extreme weights and frequent use.
In the design variant that won the German Design Award in February 2017, magnetically held cover plates hide the assembly and milling areas of the concealed hinges in such a way that an immaculate appearance is created.
