With STV 135/56 3-D barrel hinge for doors weighing 350 kilograms.

Constantly increasing door weights and larger door leafs demand hinge systems with high load-bearing capacity. At BAU 2017, Basys presented the “Objecta 2239/160/56-4 S” with “STV 135/56 3-D”, a heavy duty barrel hinge that has successfully passed the tests for doors weighing 350 kilograms. During development, the focus was not only on the hinge, but above all on the hinge receiver.

With the “Objecta” product family, Bartels Systembeschlaege designed a heavy duty door hinge system that is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing, which adjusts to a high frequency of opening and closing processes and at the same time functions maintenance-free over its entire life cycle. This is provided by the high-quality bearing technology, in which flange bushings with enlarged running surfaces are embedded in a special synthetic – ensuring low friction. “Objecta” door hinges are tested and certified in accordance with DIN EN 1935 and comply with CE hinge classes 11 and 14 respectively.

A pin locking device, which is inherent to all left and right opening “Objecta” door hinges, distinguishes the product from the usual standard. The grub screws, which act as fixing pins, fulfil the additional benefit of burglary resistance because, when the door is closed, they prevent the support bolt from loosening and the axle from being driven out without further ado. However, the heavy duty hinges can also be used to map requirements for smoke, fire and noise protection as well as escape safety.

The new “Objecta” hinge follows this system approach with pin protection and high-quality bearing materials. It is available for rebated and flush door geometries. In addition, Basys supplies fastening accessories, such as safety plates for case frames.
